This program equips students to deliver high-quality care to residents and patients in their own homes, assisted living settings, or nursing care facilities. Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge in various aspects of resident care, including Body Mechanics, Support with Daily Activities, taking Vital Signs and Nutrition.

Practical training takes place at our partner institutions. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and will have the opportunity to sit for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program Exam. Successful completion of this exam will lead to licensing as a Certified Nurse Assistant.  The certification exam is administered on our campus.

Job Assistance is provided to all students for employment with our partner organizations.

Length of Program: 

The NATP is designed to be completed over 5 weeks for days and 10 weeks for nights.
● Theory must be completed, including passing all Theory exams with at least an 80% pass rate,
before the student is allowed to start Clinical or have any direct contact with patients
● Clinical must be completed successfully to complete the NATP.

AM Schedule (24 days):

Weekdays Session- Theory: 9 days M-F (7:00am-3:30pm) - asynchronous

Clinicals: 15 days M-F (7:00am-3:30pm)

PM Schedule (46 days):

Theory: 19 days, M-F (3:30pm-8:00pm) - asynchronous

Clinicals: 27 days, M-F (3:30pm-8:00pm)

Clinical Schedule & Attendance:

Clinical training requires a commitment of up to 8 hours per day plus a 30-minute lunch break. The full
clinical schedule will be provided during the application process. While schedule changes are rare, they
may occur with as little as 24 hours’ notice due to factors like instructor illness, facility updates, or
severe weather. Students must be flexible and prepared to adjust. All changes will be communicated via
phone, text, email, and the learning management system.

Grade Requirements for Passing the NATP

Theory Evaluation
The Theory portion of the NATP is broken up into modules. At the end of each module, there is a
summative exam that the student must take and score at least 80% to progress to the next module and complete the Theory portion of the NATP. Students can retake the summative exam until they score at least 80%. Students pass Theory by completing all content and passing exams with a score of at least 80%.

Clinical Evaluation
During the Clinical portion of the NATP, students have the opportunity to apply the skills learned in the
Theory through hands-on patient care under the supervision of the Clinical instructor. To successfully
pass Clinical, students must:
● Attend 100 hours of clinical training
● Demonstrate competency in all required clinical skills as outlined in the Skills Checklist, signed
off by the instructor during return demonstrations

Graduation Requirements:

1. Completion of all required hours of theory, lab and clinical (Including externship, if applicable)
2. Achieved a minimum grade of 80% at the end of the program
3. Submission of all required class assignments, reports and papers
4. Return of all materials borrowed from the school during the term of the program
5. Fulfillment of all financial obligations

The tuition fee covers the following required services and materials:
● Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR Certification
● Uniforms
● California State Nurse Assistant Certification Exam
